Ladies & Gentleman,

I need some help.  I am a corvette man living in the U.S. with a soft spot for British cars.  My son and I have always been fascinated by them....and here is my story.

My son has stumbled upon a restored 1952 MG TD that is in super shape, we are about to make an offer on it the beginning of the week.  The owner has told us that this vehicle has some past race history.  It sports grille badges for Monza, Le Mans, and the Targa Florio !  Problem is, how can this be confirmed?  The auto no documentation, but the owner is only asking the inequivalent of 7000 pounds for it.  I know this is a reasonable price for the car, but would love to prove it's racing heritage for when we show it.  Is there any way this can be done ?  Any help would be most appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't know how or where this can be checked.

Perhaps contacting the current organisers of the races, or historians/experts on them, they may have details of cars that were entered.

Sorry I can't really help any further than that...  Sad
