I think that every forum should have an advertising section, I know not every one wants to have it but it kind of keep spam from taking over your forum.

I'm surprised actually at how clean this forum is. Whatever mods you are using Andy, it is doing a very fine job of stopping the rot here. Some places I have seen have been awful.

I agree  Smiley

I've just visited another forum and clicked "new posts since last visit" and they were all spam. You're doing a great job Andy.

you seem to be doing a fine job on the site  Andy-the lack of spam is conspicuous and that itself is a pleasant feature not too often found.I think spamming is one of the worst modern day curses Angry

The site is still new, so the spammers have not really found it yet. Thankfully.

I have another forum that gets a lot of spam/fake sign ups, but that has been modded so that end users never get to see the fake accounts, I'll obviously deal with it if spam ever gets a problem here.

And it really seems to me that an ads section invites the spam. It is always there that the spam concentrates, as though the spam bots are programmed to look for those forums with an advertisement section.

In my own opinion, it's better to kick out all spammers first in this board before adding any special feature. Spams are very disturbing for me.

Spam is a complete nightmare - spammers no longer seem to care who gets to see their rubbish, which could be a child.

You're right! Spams are really pains in the butt. Hope I can use a vacuum cleaner here but I think removing all those spams is not an easy job.

yes, i strongly  agree this statement that there  should be a advertisement section therefore there  might not  be  spam ads somewhere else. i mean, this helps forum to stay clean  and  healthy...and  even interesting..!!

Most of the time, people like to advertise and so I would also like to suggest advertising section but with the expectations that those posts which are spam should be deleted right away.

So are we all against the spam bots more than we are against the actually people putting ads in the as section. I dont think there is anything wrong with respectful advertisements, I'm not running with spam or anything because spam is totally silly but I think that is healthy for any forum.

yes i agree that  there  in ever forum should contain the ad section, its makes clean  forum and even if  there are  people who wants to boost their websites,  are will also get the  best  fitted place to  advertise  their websites. and about spammers,  this forum is  not so  famous, otherwise....spammers are never  been controlled.

I am with that. I mean you might as well do it. Because regardless if someone is wanting to through in some spam some time, they will so why not just make it available. But I do think that you should moniter the advertising section though.
