does anyone remember the BMC A60 series came in all the BMC marques-austin,morris,riley,mg,wolseley and even vanden plas.It was a marvelous family car big and roomy and still had a starting handle(you wouldn't want to push start one of these)

No, never had contact with one unfortunately. I always found it hugely amusing when my friend's father's Jeep wouldn't start and he would start jumping up and down on this starting handle, getting all red in the face. Not sure I would like to do that myself too often Wink

Yeah I do remember vanden plas.
My grandfather had this car and I dont know where did that car gone after my grandfathers death. I remember that had a gearbox problem.

The Vanden plas princess was the biggest and heaviest of all the models but was actually an A99 based model and not an A60 although looking very similar. With a 3 litre engine everything else was also suitably big,including the fuel tank
