I was thinking about go half on a mini with my brother. But The car is in need of a detail kit. HAs anyone here bought a detail kit? And if so how much is a detail kit? Would I have to buy the detail kit and then pay for someone to put it on the car?

Hi Randle,

Nice to hear that you will buy a Mini together with your brother. I used to own one in racing green and I loved the little car.

If by detail kit you mean bumpers and the trim along the edges, it's a simple job to do for anyone with a couple of spanners and a bit of patience.

I think older minis had a metal trim taht covered the seams, which just pull off. The new ones just tap on with your hand. The later cars had a plastic trim that - soaking it in hot water briefly makes it more pliable, so it bends easier and is easier to fit.

As for a price? I haven't a clue, to be honest...

Have you tried looking in an online parts catalog? I think it's easier to find classic kits in there that best fits for your car. Feel free to visit.
